Just The Beginning

Look at what Logan and I did yesterday:

And look where they are being kept until the weather is nice:

I had read on another blog (don't remember which one) that if you have a bathroom with a skylight in it, it's a great place to start seedlings for your garden. I'm guessing because of the sunlight and the humidity from the bath that it basically becomes a greenhouse. We'll see how it works - we've never grown a garden before so wish us luck. This year I'm going to try to grow cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and probably strawberries.

Minority Wins

The two people that voted boy are correct! This baby is apparently not afraid to show himself (opposite of his brother). He had his little legs up by his head so everything was in plain view. The only part we couldn't get a clear picture of was his complete face. The whole time he either had a foot up there or his hands.
The doctor said everything with the pregnancy is going well. I was up another 2 pounds so that makes 3 pounds total. They estimate the baby weighs 1 lb. 6 oz. so if you factor that in with the amniotic fluid pretty much ALL of that (if not more) is baby weight :) My due date has been changed a little so it's now around August 24th instead of the 28th. Which I'm sure will make Uncle Taylor VERY happy!!

We took Logan to the ultrasound and he did great. He of course talked and flirted with the two women in there the entire time. The tech even printed out a picture of the baby's footprint just for Logan to keep. As soon as we went back out to the waiting room to wait for the doctor Logan immediately began showing his picture off to all the other women waiting in there. It was too cute!

While watching TV I think I just heard the funniest line EVER (might have something to do with the fact that I am pregnant).

(Heard from the trailor for the upcoming movie Baby Mama)

*shows character at child birthing class and this is what she asks the instructor:

"Can I just spray some Pam down there to loosen the area up before the baby comes out?"

That cracked me up!!

New Bed

Last Wednesday I found a bed for Logan on our local online classifieds. I've been wanting to get Logan a new bed since we'll need his crib/toddler bed for the baby. Wednesday I lucked out! It had been posted up there for awhile and I thought for sure it would not be available but I emailed the person and it was still available. Wednesday when Mike got off work we drove out and took a look at it. It was exactly what I was looking for and Logan liked it right away (by climbing up and trying to jump on it!). I think I got a great deal on it too - we got the bed with headboard and mattress for $150!
(notice the new bedding too - Logan was absolutely thrilled when he saw the Backyardigans splattered all over his bed)

New & Improved

On Monday I took Logan to get his haircut. I was worried he wouldn't behave and would not want to sit on the chair. I really don't know why I worry about stuff like that since every time I do the little bugger proves me wrong. The instant he walked through the door he turned on his charm. He said hi to everyone and began to flirt with LaTrisha. And of course she gobbled him up. He climbed up in the chair and did a great job. When she asked him to look down he did. When she asked him to tilt his head he did. His only request? He wanted to use the blow dryer when she was all done :) It was too cute!

Here are the before and after shots - he looks so grown up!

Potty Update

I'm sure you've all been on the edge of your seats wondering how the potty training was progressing. In one word - GREAT!! Logan has been doing extremely well. He's only had a couple of accidents AND he's even been waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. We're still putting him in a diaper at night but almost every morning it's been dry. For his naps we don't change him out of his underwear and so far, no accidents!! I might be jinxing myself for posting this wonderful progress but this has been going on for about 2 weeks.

He's been rewarded by his progress also so I think he's realizing how proud we all are of him. The couple of accidents that he has had happened when he was outside playing and his mind was elsewhere. We spent most of this morning outside though and as soon as he had to go he told me and we came in without incident!

Of course just last week I bought 2 boxes of diapers for him but I guess I'll just save those for the baby :)

Halfway

That's right! I'm halfway through my pregnancy - yay!! Nothing too exciting going on but here are some events:

-I am feeling the baby move like crazy. I've been feeling it for about 2 weeks now. S/He seems to be more active in the evening. Last night Mike & I were playing Super Mario 3 on the Wii (and getting our butts kicked!) and the little bugger was moving like crazy!

-I've started to get heartburn :( Milk seems to help with it though so that's good.

-I'm also getting the hiccups more frequently. I don't remember this happening when Logan was in there.

-Logan likes to pat my belly. He always asks where the baby is in there. Sometimes he'll even talk to him/her. Usually it consists of "Hi Baby!" and "Love You!" So cute!

The Weekend

This weekend was pretty laid back. Saturday we took Logan to the circus. He seemed to enjoy it for the most part, although he did get a little bored and asked to go home a couple of times. Mike bought him a sword that lit up and that seemed to work. He didn't ask from that point on. The circus wasn't as fun as I had remembered, they didn't have as many animals. There were bears, dogs and elephants. And they all looked severely depressed. The bears were pretty painful to watch - they just looked so, so sad.

After Logan's nap we took him out to Auntie's house for the evening. Mike & I went to dinner and then over to one of my co-worker's houses. We had a great time (there were about 15 of us there) playing games and visiting. It was fun to get out of the house and meet some new people. Hopefully we'll get to do that again.

Sunday was spent being extremely lazy. I spent most of the day vegging on the couch switching between the Food Network and watching The Blue Man Group concert. We went to one of their concert a couple of years ago and watching them on TV brought back memories of that. I think Mike managed to read an entire book yesterday.

I was still sick for most of the weekend. Friday night I slept in another room so that Mike didn't have to hear me coughing all night. By Saturday I could finally taste stuff again. I am finally feeling better besides coughing occasionally and being able to blow my nose continuously (where is all of that snot hidden??)

Progress

Logan is wearing big boy underwear!! We are very excited around here. I had to work this last weekend and Mike had been trying to encourage him to sit on the potty. On Saturday I think Logan sat on it at least 3 times and managed to pee each time. We went over to Mom & Dad's that night for dinner since Taylor was going to back to college Sunday morning. Grammy informed Logan that if he kept up the good work she would take him shopping for a new toy. The incentive seems to have worked (also the fact that Mike told him no candy until he poops on the potty).

Saturday night when we got home we talked to him about wearing big boy underwear. He seemed a little more interested this time but he didn't want to wear them quite yet. BUT he did want his frog and his dinosaur to sport some Batman and Spiderman undies. So that night I put underwear on his stuffed animals *rolling eyes at this point*. BUT by Sunday afternoon that seemed to have worked. When I called Mike Sunday evening he proudly proclaimed that Logan was wearing big boy underwear. I guess while they were home Logan began taking them off & on froggie then he started putting them on over his diaper and soon after that point he asked Mike to remove his diaper so he could wear them. When I got home he still had them on and had not had an accident!

Monday went pretty smooth. He didn't want to wear them first thing that morning but Daddy came to the rescue with a phone call. He told Logan how happy he would be if he wore the big boy undies again. The next time we went up to use the potty he grabbed a pair and put them on when he was finished. Last night after dinner I went out shopping with my Mom and I guess the training went a little downhill. Logan threw a big fit and had an accident and then I guess he had two more.

Today hasn't been too bad. He did have one accident but I think that was partly my fault. I didn't take him to the bathroom soon enough. I think he is still doing very well and just hope the progress continues.
