It's Done
The tooth is out. It wasn't as painful as I anticipated it to be. I now have a lovely gaping hole in the front of my mouth. Luckily though I was able to get the temporary one today. I'm not supposed to sleep with that in until the swelling has gone down.

ok, I'm officially freaked out. I JUST posted about my front tooth being chipped, possibly cracked and being afraid it will be yanked/replaced. I literally just wrote that twenty mins ago.
So you must tell me WHY you had to have your front tooth pulled! I'm scared now...

Have I ever mentioned that I have no front tooth either? I knocked my front right top tooth out when I was little, and the dentist put it back in. It stayed alive and healthy for about 10 years, and then it started to die. I got an ugly replacement when I was in high school, called a Maryland bridge - the fake tooth was connected to the teeth on either side of it by metal "wings" - and the color never really matched the surrounding teeth. Anyway, about five years ago, I decided to get rid of the ugly bridge and researched implants. Implants are fine for the front, but only if you already have lovely teeth. If not, they're not really improving anything. Sooo, to make a long story longer, I ended up getting my front four teeth replaced with a bridge. They filed down the teeth on either side, and fit the bridge over them. And because all four top front teeth are fake, they match beautifully, and look real. PLEASE look into getting a bridge before you decide to get the implant - they're usually cheaper, you end up looking like a rock star (hubby calls them my movie star teeth) and there's no surgery. I know it's hard to consider sacrificing two or three healthy teeth to become part of the bridge, but the end result is SO worth it. Anyway, weigh ALL your options before you settle on one.
