A Great Morning!

Last Thursday Logan & I had a playdate with Christina & Claire. It was such a fun and enjoyable morning. I couldn't believe how fast the time went by - even though we were there for over 3 hours!

I was a little apprehensive because usually Logan his a little timid when it comes to meeting strangers. Claire came out to greet us in the driveway and Logan smiled at her right away. He couldn't wait to get down and play with her. Logan made himself at home over there - he loved all the stuffed animals that they dug out for him to play with. And he simply adored Claire - right away he started babbling away like he had known her forever!

Claire was such a joy too. She told me all about her friends and showed me the pumpkin she had picked out at the pumpkin patch. I even got a mini-facial while over there!

It was so nice getting to visit with another Mom while our children played on the floor entertaining each other. It was such a simple morning but it was something I look forward to doing again - soon!

See I'm always worried when I take my kids somewhere because they are so "in your face". They will immediately walk up to anyone and start a conversation with them and of course tell them lovely little details like "are you drinking coffee? My mommy drinks coffee and you have to let her do it like first thing...." or "we had to come to the store to buy milk for Diego and beer for my daddy! " and they pretty much just take over the very space that you are sharing with them...
Glad you are getting out with Logan...it sounds like you guys are having a great time!

I am so glad you are able to get out and spend some time with other moms. I am working on that. Just found out there is a mom 4-doors down that is about my age and has an 18 month old son. We are going to try to get them together.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I think we really do want another one. I remember being without insurance, and I don't think I would ever go back there. It was horrible to feel like i couldn't get sick...or have a baby.

Had I been on your playdate, I probably would have been thinking about claire and what I have to look forward to with my daughter in a few years. I am sure once Charis gets really talking and social, I am never going to get her stop talking to everyone! It will be fun though.

Oh! I agree about the diaper thing. Charis is really interested in potty training, though she has kind of paused since we moved and is still adjusting. We are confident she'll get back into it soon, when she feels more comfortable in her surroundings.

I gotta go. Talk to you later!

Now, Tanya...How come none of you live up here in Northern Ontario? I don't get to rub elbows with ANY of you fab bloggers. Excuse me while I pout...

Done. Pouting really isn't my best look. While I do it often, I try to do it in a closed room where the impressionable public can't see me.

The site looks better and better! So clever. Someday, when I am not feeling so lazy, I really am going to try it.

I hope your weekend rocks and that you, Mike and Logan do something delightfully fall-ish.

sounds like it was fun!

we're coming out your way this Sunday for an radio controlled airplane thing with cub scouts.

Anyways, I think Becca's idea of a lunch date sounds like a great idea - I would love to host if you can round up some of the blog troops like Heather, etc. I think there's more than enough boy toys here to keep little L busy.

But we may have to plan it around Christina's kindergarten schedule.

Anyways, I haven't checked out your pumpkin pie recipe - I make my MIL's and it is to die for - if you'd like the recipe, I can send it to you (the trick is heaps of spices!)

Cheers!

Saw your dad on the news today while he was striking. I hope they get what they want. They really deserve it.

Hurray, hurray! :D We LOVE play dates! Like I said, it's a shame we don't live closer to Seattle... Although we're getting your weather now AND it's not raining! lol I am starting to think I can handle Georgia weather... :D A little more temperate year-round would be nice... :)

Library TOMORROW! REALLY! :) I blogged this, but I nearly had a heart-attack when I got up this morning and realized what a mess my house was... :S I have ignored everything since Friday, and there's only so much anybody else will or can do..... Jonathan picks up blocks and washes dishes... Tabitha washes dishes and plays with Scooter... But there ALWAYS are dishes leftover! I'm happy to report everything's cleaned up and the laundry's nearly done. Happy day!

I am going to post this and see if I can't find that code you were talking about so that I can get a video player onto our site. I won't try to be as cool as you and have two... *wink*

Playgroups haved always been my sanity. It's so much nicer now, though, that Haddie is actually old enough to play with the other kids!

Hey Tanya,
What about Wed, Oct 25? Claire and I would be free in the morning any time after 8:30am.

I had such a great time hanging with you too! Thanks for this blog - it's fun to read your perspective on our time together. (I think you should sell that carmel spice pear butter of yours!)
