Meeting The Beast Mom & Holy Schmidt
I met the most wonderful ladies on Saturday night - Christina and Holy Schmidt. Even though we thought the fashion show was going to be nothing but something to laugh at, it was actually quite fun. (Although I'm still a little disappointed that one of them didn't fall.) The models didn't wear anything extravagant and the male models were visually appealing (to say the least). If I may speak for the other two I think we had a fabulous time! We may have met being nothing but blogging acquaintances but I think we left with a couple of new friends.
We didn't stop with the fashion show though - we went to a coffee shop and talked for over 2 more hours! It was so great to get out with other stay-at-home/work-from-home-Moms and just talk. It's crazy that we knew so much about one another but yet had never met or even talked on the phone before - and yet when we sat down to talk it was like we had known one another forever. Have I mentioned lately how much I love blogging??

Sounds like great fun
Yeah, that dude was a hottie (even if he was still wearing the sizing label on his pantleg!)
And it was a ton of fun! I feel the same way about "pre-knowing" strangers through blogs and then you meet and it's almost like you've already met.
Very cool!
I definitely had a great, great time w/ you both, and the whole show was so professionally done that I couldn't bring myself to do my usual goofy mocking. :)
I think *I* may have almost fallen down on the way to the restroom...

p.s. tell me a good morning next week sometime when you and L want to come over for a playdate - I'm sure it will start raining again - this beautiful summery weather is our last hurrah of warmth for a while!
thanks for the links - I was just thinking yesterday that I would hit you up for that digital scrapbooking one and the other link will be helpful for my big switchover - which I need to do sooner rather than later.
thx again!
I'm SO glad you posted a pic, Tanya!! I thought of the 3 of you all weekend..I wish I could've been there! Guess there's always next time!!
HUGS!! :)
Alicia said she thought of you all weekend, and so did I!! I've been waiting for this post, and I love the picture. :D Hurray for meeting blogging friends!!! I've only met one so far--she lived across the bay from us when we were in Tampa--Rosebay! :) She's a sweetheart and we've remained good friends. It makes everything so much more personal!! :D Did kids get to meet kids? :D If WE ever meet it'll have to be for a play date--Scooter would get the biggest kick out of Logan, I'm sure!! :D
Tanya, so glad you all got the chance to get together. Having done the same thing with 7 other MSN Spacers in Las Vegas this past weekend, I can strongly relate to your statements.
I had never met any of the attendees, and had only visited one or two of their blogs before our get together.
King Tom was the only person whom I felt like I knew well, and of course he was not physically present, even tho I feel he was indeed there spiritually.
And yet we all came together quite easily, quite comfortably (or so it seemd to me).
Thanks for sharing with us Tanya!

How fabulous you had such a great time! I feel like a little community of women since I started blogging. We should all plan to meet up next summer in Chicago at BlogHer!
Next Thursday would be great - Claire and I are avl from 8:30am-11:45am. I'll email you directions...

Diggin' this sunny, hot weather! - that's why we've moved here - rain, rain, stay away, come again another century...
you better get Logan out and about quick before it comes back - I still have never taken the kids to the zoo - either one - meant to this summer but then it flew away.
PS - my daughter stole my Shoefly certificate from my shopping bag of goodies - she was playing school with friends and thought it suited her curriculum!
Cheers!
