Hi There Again!
Things are back to normal around here - Mike is back at work, the weather has turned rainy again, and I'm back to blogging. Logan is still sick but is feeling much better today, although right
now he is refusing to nap.
I was hoping to begin putting away the Christmas decorations while he napped but it doesn't look like that will be happening. I just hope I can get it done before we fly out on Saturday. Speaking of the flight I need some ideas to keep Logan entertained. The last time we flew he was 10 months old and it was not fun (which is why we haven't flown since). I am hoping to go to Target or somewhere similar and find some new things for him to play with on the plane. Any suggestions would be wonderful!
I have begun to cross-stitch again which is taking up some of my blogging time but it has been so therapeutic for me. I love doing that and most of the time am happy with the finished product! Hahaha
Some other Logan news: he's begun to say more words. It's so cute to watch him try to sound things out :) He received a stuffed moose for Christmas and I began to call him "moosey" - Logan can now say "moosey" perfectly. He emphasizes on the "sey" part so it comes out as "mooSEEEEEYYY". He also points to his new tractor and says "tra", "tra". And today I'm wearing a Tigger sweatshirt, when I went in to get him this morning he pointed to my shirt. I said, "that's Tigger" and he said "tidder". I guess it's just a matter of time before he's really talking!

Get a portable DVD player!!!! I think you can find one pretty reasonably priced. I haven't flown with Jack since he was 7 months, but we use a portable DVD player on long car trips. A life saver! I usually go to the library and get some new DVDs that he hasn't seen and also bring some of his favorites.
You're right about the talking... it's just a matter of time! It seems they come up with a new word daily now days. So much fun! ;)
How about pop up books? How long is the flight?
Becca
HI!! I love the picture!! I can't get enough of that cute little face. :D Neither can Scooter--he always yells out "BA-BEEE!" When he sees Logan. :D
I saw the pop-up book suggestion... Only if it is CHEAP! Scooter got a pop-up book for Christmas and already it's torn... :S He thinks it's the kind of book that has the little doors... flaps? that you open so you can see underneath them. So he's not being purposefully destructive, you know?
GUESS WHAT! He opened the gift from you and Logan--What an ADORABLE book! We started to read it, but then Emily started whimpering... You know... lol He actually opened the rest of his Christmas gifts today--what a mess! But he had a good time and it was a distraction from the usurper... :D
Okay. Ideas for the plane. Scooter would be tickled pink with a baggy of cars.... I think what I would do is put two cars in a baggy, then open a different bag every half-hour or something like that. Books are ALWAYS good, but I'll bet you already had those up your sleeve. :D I guess the bottom line here is that I'm glad it's YOU traveling and not ME! Is Mike at least going with you? That'll help tons.
OH! And he's talking THAT MUCH! Scooter's only just gotten brave enough to talk that much... In fact, only recently has he started to repeat stuff. He is a very careful little person in most respects, and he wants to be able to speak fluently before he speaks at all--I know what he's feeling because I was the same way in Junior High French class... lol Today he repeated a whole sentence--I told him that "Daddy has to warm up his truck." And then he proceeded in his garbled toddler tongue to repeat it word-for-word. :D

Hey there, glad to hear that Logan is feeling better!
idea's for a plane trip, hmmm
well there are the books, the dinky cars, you could do pictures (you can get cards with pictures on them of animals/numbers or whatever) I like the baggie idea. put something in each zip-loc baggie then pull a new one out as he gets bored with the other one. You can do that by alternating between activities and snacks (ex. carrot sticks/crakers etc.)The chewing will help with the altitude and the pressure on his little ears.
I hear ya with all the talking! Gavin is talking so much and he is only 10 months, but my oldest was that way too. Right now his favorites are "don't touch that" and "santa" I love watching them all grow and learn, it is so exciting isn't it?

Hi Tanya- Good luck on the flight - I will be curious to hear what you do for entertainment.
Have a wonderful trip!
Argh! Lost my comment.
Anyhow - I am going to send you a kid-safe sleep aid and my plans for a PAUSE button. Each new word/milestone is truly amazing but it all goes too fast. I don't know what I am going to do with myself to see my little man hit 2...3...etc. Love the 'tidder' btw!
:D I am SO TIRED, or I'd leave a more clever comment. :D We did the doctor's thing, as well as a Wal-Mart/Post Office/McDonald's pit stop, so I'm WORN OUT. Scooter, on the other hand, has decided he's skipping his nap. Doesn't matter! He'll be going to bed EARLY! Bwwwaaaa-hah aha ha ha! :D
hey have fun on your trip.
As a variation on the baggie idea, I swear by a bag filled with small wrapped items - spoiling and bribing I know but trust me, when my Lzo was that age and we flew, I was way more partial to keeping him in his own seat rather than playing peek a boo for two hours with the people behind us.
That gets old really fast - not to the child but to the poor people sitting behind you!
I used to wrap up a variety of things. Snacks, small easy craft and game things, cars, mini colouring books and crayons, you name it, you can probably find it at the dollar store...
Let's hook up when you're back - way overdue to get you your $ and grab the lotion.
