Not in the Shower!!

Lately Logan has been showering with us. He really enjoys just standing under the shower-head, letting it soak him. It also makes it easier than listening to him scream outside of the shower while we rush to at least get a little clean. This morning after I had showered and we had eaten breakfast, Mike decided to shower. I was going to get Logan dressed while he was doing this but as soon as Logan heard the shower running he ran into our bedroom because he didn't want to miss out. We stripped him down and threw him in there.

I went downstairs to clean up from breakfast and about 3 minutes later Mike yelled for me. I went up into the bathroom, opened the door, and saw Logan standing there, and underneath him lay a.pile.of.poop! Yup, my child pooped in the shower. And even though I wasn't the one showering with him I still had to clean it up. I guess looking at it in perspective it was one less poopy diaper to change!

Welcome!!

I think I'm almost done tweaking, rearranging, adding, and editing stuff on my blog.  I would like to say hello and welcome to everyone who has stopped by!  Thank you to all my MSN friends who have come by and left such wonderful comments and for changing your links!!  I was so worried none of you would come to my new little spot.  I didn't realize that you have to register with Blogger so I apologize for that - I hope it's not too painful to do.

Sit back, relax, and stay awhile.  I would like to give you a little tour of my new blog home.  I hope it's easier to get around on this site than it was on my MSN one.  Hopefully things won't lock up or run slowly for you while you're here.  Please let me know if you're having problems with anything here.  I love to hear feedback!!

Ok, on with the tour:  how do you like the new banner?  I designed it this last week and I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I thought it was pretty fitting since we have "little prince" items in Logan's room.  Then on to the left sidebar - most of this is the same from my MSN site - but much easier to navigate (at least I hope it is!).  My blog entries are, of course, in the middle, along with a "Google" search bar.  If you need to find anything on the web just type it in here - I get credit for it somehow.  Not quite sure how it works yet but we'll see I guess.  Speaking of credit - if you look at the right sidebar you'll notice some ads along there.  Some are by Google and some from Amazon.  If you click on the Google link over there I will get credit for that too.  It's much easier than the ads you can put up from MSN - you only have to click on it once!  Which is awesome, since you don't have to spend a lot of time perusing through the ads and it will help me out :)  Which is always appreciated!!  The Amazon link will take you right over to their site where you can order books, CDs, etc.  My Flikr account is also over on the right - this is where I'll be putting new pictures of us (aka Logan) up there.  Feel free to leave comments on the pictures - you all should know by now that I love the attention!  You'll notice that there are 2 Windows Media Players.  The titles of the videos playing are located below the video.  You'll have to hit the "play" button to get the video running.

I think that about sums up my site - oh, one more thing - don't forget to sign my guestbook.  (I know, again the attention).  I hope you all have a great time when you stop by.

Here a couple of new sites to check out:

Spaces Cookbook - stop by to see the new recipes added weekly - you can even submit your own!!

Mommy Central - a new site set up by a fellow Mom.  I haven't had a lot of time to check it out.  But there are some forums over here to check out.  Recommended by Deb.

One last thing and then I'll wrap this entry up:  Christina has mentioned a fashion show that will be taking place in Bellevue towards the end of September.  So far there are three of us bloggers that will be going to it.  Any others that live around here are more than welcome to attend.  You can find all the details about it here.  We will be attending the event on Saturday, September 23rd.  It would be wonderful if some of you from around here could join us!!

Ok - I think I'm done, for now!!

We Finally Met!! (and it was G-R-E-A-T)

This weekend it finally worked out - Logan & I were able to meet Mo!! I was worried it wouldn't happen since Friday night (or Saturday morning depending on your perspective) I didn't go to bed until 1:30 AM, and THEN, Logan decided to get up. So truth be told, I really didn't go to bed until around 2:30 AM. My trusty alarm clock (aka Logan) woke up promptly at 9 and began demanding my attention. We got dressed, ate and we were on the road by 9:30. Before we went to visit Mo at the pet store we stopped at Osh Kosh since they were having a killer sale this weekend. I picked up a couple of rompers for Logan - they were on sale for $3.99!!

Then it was off to the pet store. While walking over there all of a sudden I began to feel nervous. I have no idea why - it felt like I was going to a job interview. I was so worried it would be awkward to actually meet a blogging friend in-real-life. But it wasn't (I'm such a worry-wart) - to me it just felt like two friends getting together for a visit. There were no introductions needed, I instantly knew who she was and the same went for her.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure Logan had his charm turned on FULL BLAST!! He even did the eyebrow raise. At first he was a little shy but seemed to overcome that pretty quickly.

I'm so happy we got to meet and hopefully her & Heather will be able to come to "fashion week".

Mo, on the way home I saw a woman holding a sign that said "Save Boobies" - how funny is that? (To understand this please read this entry of hers)

Logan Updates

Since I'm still bashing-my-head-against-the-wall working on getting my new site in order, here are some new updates on Logan (most are not good things - see Austin you're not alone):

  • Last Tuesday he managed to bonk his head while at the pool
  • On Friday he tipped over a steaming bowl of egg drop soup (his fingers are fine now)
  • On Saturday he fell down the stairs in our house (and not the small set - the huge one)
  • On Sunday he fell while at the park and managed to scrape his nose - he looks like Rudolph
  • On Tuesday, while walking on the beach, he got overly excited and wiped out. Managing to eat a mouthful of sand in the process.
  • He has learned that if he makes a big enough scene at the store he will get his way
  • He insists on pushing the shopping cart - do you know how hard it is to get your shopping done with a one year old pushing the shopping cart??
  • He has learned to stick out his tongue - and he thinks it's cute (well, we do too. for now)
  • While out garage-saling I bought a 1-2-3 Elmo sprinkler and he loves it!! Check out my flickr! account for more photos of his experience.

I think that's it for the updates - how horrible of a Mom do I sound like now? Logan didn't have this many bumps and bruises his whole first year of life!!

You Paid What For That?

While out hitting some of the local garage sales on Friday, this is what I picked up for Logan. The grand total of all the new loot?? Less than 20 bucks!! The Mariners shirt only set me back 50 cents - how great of a deal is that??
I think I bought over 20 books for him and the firetruck is big enough for him to sit on. Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to pat myself on the back for awhile. Hahahaha

First Trip to the Pool

Tuesday afternoon we took Logan to the pool for the first time. We knew he would have a blast since he loves anything to do with water. And after the pressure washing afternoon we were assured he would love it! We went over to the Snohomish pool and it wasn't as packed as we thought it would be - which was good. We got changed and took Logan into the pool - he immediately loved it! They had all sorts of water toys for the kids there - floating noodles, balls, and kick boards. They also had a separate kiddie pool which only went to 1 1/2 feet deep - that's where we spent a majority of the time. At first Logan just wanted us to hold him but after 5 minutes he wanted to run around. Meaning he wanted to run - in the pool. Of course this is impossible for him since a) he's just learning how to walk and b) unless you already know how to kind of swim there is no way that you can also run in the pool. He looked so funny though - he ran between Mike & I - and occasionally he would slip and take a little dip in the pool. He thought that was even funnier - he loved getting soaked.

But then he noticed that he could get out of the pool. Just climb up the steps and you're on the cement! Not good for a kid just learning how to walk. At first he did OK but then he started getting excited and that's when he couldn't seem to keep his balance. All was fine though since he's used to losing his balance and falling but then he spotted a ball on the floor that he had to have. He got to the ball and must have misjudged the distance because before we knew it he had tumbled over the ball. He ended up scraping his head on the cement and receiving a nice little fleck of road-rash. He cried a little but once he was back in the pool he just wanted to play - he almost instantly forgot about trying to exfoliate his face. It is almost all cleared up - it is now about a nickel sized dot in the middle of his forehead.

1 cup white chocolate chips
1/3 cup oil
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs 32 vanilla caramels, unwrapped

Bake an additional 18-22 minutes or until top is set and edges are deep golden brown. Cool 20 minutes. Run knife around outer edges to loosen. Cool 40 minutes. Refrigerate 1 hour. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
