A Nice Visit

Well it's Monday again and everybodie's back to work. We had a really fun weekend. Mike had some family in town. On Friday we took Logan out to visit some friends and some of my co-workers. We picked his cousin up from the airport. It was so nice to get to see Gwen. On Sunday we went to a baseball game with Gwen, her dad, and her dad's girlfriend. It was a good game. They actually won!! Our friends watched Logan while we were at the game. It was hard to be away from him for that long, but it was also nice to get some time to ourselves. We started car shopping this weekend, I'm already sick of it!! I just hate dealing with car salesmen. I wish we could just find a car and be done with it. I think Mike is going to look some more today, maybe he'll find something so we don't have to spend next weekend doing the same thing.

He's Not Even 3 Weeks Old!!

So this morning Logan started fussing at about 7 am. I went in to feed him, after feeding him I brought him into the bed with me. I laid him down so that he could go back to sleep. He was moving around a little bit, before I knew it he was on his side. He then used his little arms to push himself onto his back. I could not believe it, he just rolled over!! I can't get over how strong he is. Last night he was laying on Mike's chest and when I looked over he had scooted himself down onto Mike's belly.

Kind Of A Routine??!!??

Logan is almost 3 weeks old and I can't believe how fast time flies!! He's gotten bigger and is noticing his surroundings more and more each day. Last night he was laying on the couch beside me and I showed him a book with pictures of babies faces in it. He was completely mesmerized by it. Of course it only lasted about 3 minutes but he was so interested in it for that time.
We are trying to get into a routine. I think Logan mainly decides what will work and what won't - hahahaha. He does take regular naps though, they are usually for about 2-3 hours at a time. Now if we can just get into a regular bedtime that would be nice. It ranges anywhere from 10 pm to midnight.

Last Night Was Rough

Last night was hard. For some reason Logan did not want to go to sleep. I think he was up almost every hour. I'm not sure what was wrong, but I thought I was going to break down. It would be so much easier if he could talk :) He finally laid down to sleep at about 4:30 I think. He slept until 9. I hope he doesn't decide to repeat this process again tonight.

2 Week Check-Up

Today Mom, Dad, and Taylor left. It was so nice having them out. They helped us out so much with Logan and doing the retaining wall. Hopefully Mike with the help of some of our friends will be able to finish it this next weekend.
Logan had his 2 week check-up today. He now weighs 8 lbs. 14 3/4 oz. He is little over 20" long. He is doing very well. Today we tried once again to get his social security number. I hate dealing with the government. When I called the SS office they told me all that we needed to get a number for him was his birth certificate, but when we showed up and presented them with that we were told we needed a letter from the doctor's office with the same exact info. on it that the birth certificate has. So now once we get that letter we will have to make a third trip over there and hope we are able to get his number.
It's amazing how much a baby costs. We ran to Target while we were out, we just needed to pick up a couple things for Logan. Before we knew it we had dropped over $100!! Of course it wasn't all for Logan but still!
I'm not sure what's up with the little guy today but ever since we got home from running our errands he has only slept a little bit. Usually he'll take like 2-3 hour naps, but today none of them have lasted longer than 30 minutes. I hope this pattern doesn't continue tonight.

I Guess the Retaining Wall is more work than we thought

We had another good night. Logan only needed to get up once to eat and be changed. I gave him a bath this morning and he cried at first but then calmed down. He seemed to enjoy it when i poured the water on him.
Mike & dad started working on the retaining wall this morning. It was going well for about the first 2 hours. I had just finished giving Logan his bath, Taylor came into the kitchen to get a drink of water but the water did not come on. Taylor looked out the front window of the house and there was water shooting up from the ground. Here they had hit a waterline! I hope things get better from here.

One Week Old

I can't believe Logan is already one week old. Time flies by! Everyday we're learning more about what he needs. As long as he's changed and fed he's happy. I was a little worried before thinking he could only be content if he was being held, but so far today he's been hanging out in his little bouncy chair that Grandma got him. Last night he had a really good night again. He slept for about 4 1/2 hours, got up to eat and then slept for about another 4 hours. We've been blessed so far.
The wall bricks arrived this morning at about 11:30. Dad & Mike are getting started on doing the retaining wall. They are planning on doing 3 levels of the wall. They chopped down the tree that was in the middle of the yard down at the bottom of the hill.

New Arrival

Logan Michael made his appearance into the world on August 4th, 2005 at 1:09 pm. Logan weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19" long. We stayed in the hospital until Saturday August 6th. It's amazing that even though he's only 6 days old he already has his own unique personality. I can see ways in which he takes after me, for example when he wants something, he wants it right away. He hates to wait for stuff, if he's hungry he wants to eat right now!! Just like the experts say, he loves laying on our chests. It doesn't seem to matter who is holding him as long as he can lay and sleep without being disturbed. Right now as I'm typing this he's laying on my chest, sleeping away. We have been blessed the past couple of nights, Logan has slept for about 5 hours straight. Until Sunday night he had his days and nights kind of mixed up. Sunday night he was up from about 11-4 am. It was a rough night for all 3 of us.
Having a new baby is definitely a learning experience. They demand so much of us and in the beginning it's such a guessing game, is he hungry? wet? overtired? We are slowly starting to understand his routine. It seems that he likes to eat about every 2-3 hours. And when he eats he's a snacker.
